When Christmas is just around the corner, we start using our crafty skills, we take out our hot glue gun, our miter saw, our tapes, paint brushes and of course our Christmas ornaments. This year, like any other year, I used Christmas time as an excuse to decorate every room of our house with easy DIY Christmas ornaments and
This is a small DIY project that I did this weekend:
A mini-canvas-textile gallery for my son’s play room:
My inspiration came from a TV segment that aired on Cityline last Thursday, August 16, the “Ikea textile event in New York city”.

We have 3 bedrooms in our house, one is used as our master bedroom, the second is our son’s bedroom and the third one is also used for our son as a play room (where we store a lot of his toys).
Since, I have no space for a dedicated home office, I have used a nook in our basement to create this well-organized and functional home office.
The desk, the shelves, the chair, the magnetic boards, the boxes and the stool are all from IKEA. The pockets are from the Martha Stewart (with Avery-at-Staples)Collection.
The white boxes are very useful because they are used as a storage solution, I was able to organize our papers and our little knickknacks are no longer displayed in our kitchen table.
Because this space is in our basement and I like to keep it light, I choose not to paint this wall, but maybe before winter arrives I might consider a warmer tone of color for this wall and a different lamp.
With a little imagination, a tight budget and some nice accessories found around the house, I am happy to have finally created my pretty little home office and to share it with you.
Please, keep an eye out because soon I will be revealing new DIY projects around the house.
