Spray painted Pumpkins for Fall and Halloween

OK! I couldn’t help my self, I had to get PUMPKINS last Saturday morning when we went to the supermarket to get our groceries for the week, they had these big and beautiful PUMPKINS!

Fall is not here yet but it will be arriving soon, in less than 4 days (yes, I’m counting the days), every year I like to decorate my porch with pumpkins.

This year, I started earlier than usual and I spray-painted the pumpkins in different colors: metallic plum and pink. To make it fun, I decided to carve the pumpkins by following instructions from different websites.

At first, you need to clean your pumpkin with a wet cloth, then you remove the top of the pumpkin with a knife or with a pumpkin carving tool, I used a knife, it was not a hard task to do.

Once the top of the pumpkin is removed, you remove the seeds and the plum left.

To remove the excess of seeds and plum, you can use your hand or a big spoon, I used both.

Rinse out with water the inside of the pumpkin, make sure it’s clean and pat dry with a paper towel.

These are the two pumpkins outside ready, so I can start spray-painting them:

I wanted something different for this coming Halloween, so I choose to spray-paint the pumpkins in these two colors : pink and metallic purple (from Rust-Oleum paints)

With a Sharpie black marker, I drew the eyes, nose and mouth of the pumpkins.

Then you can start cutting, I used a knife for this step too:

I placed two small candles inside of each pumpkin, I like how it looks at night!

Throughout the fall, I will be decorating my porch with more pumpkins and add some Halloween decorations!

I love Halloween, the dollar store has some good and inexpensive decorations.

Thanks for posting, I’m convinced that I’m going to do this. My daughters birthday is the last weekend of October and I’d like to mix the pumpkins into the Princess Party theme. This is the way to go! Your colors are great.
