For the last couple of years during the Holiday season, we have been buying pre-made Red velvet cupcakes. They are so delicious and moist and don’t last more than two days in our house. Since November, I’ve been meaning to try a red velvet cupcake recipe from one of my favorite food blogs at petit4chocolatier.wordpress.com, take a look at her post and you will see how amazing they turned out. Unfortunately, these last two months have been filled by DIY Christmas projects around our house and my mother’s house, so I never got to it.
Last week, while grocery shopping, we found a red velvet cupcake kit. I was very excited because I was going to make my own red velvet cupcakes and it was under $9 for 24 medium size cupcakes. It only takes 30 minutes to prepare.
This small kit included the following ingredients:
- red velvet cake mix
- icing mix
- red sugar crystals
- 24 medium size muffin cups
you will only need to add water, vegetable oil, salted butter, softened and milk
For the instructions, please follow the “Presidents Choice” kit instructions.
The cupcakes were delicious and were gone too fast
Tip: don’t bake these for more than 18 minutes as instructed, I left them a little bit longer in the oven and didn’t come out as moist as they should’ve been
On another note, this is a small Christmas project inspired by one post by one of my favourite blogs pillowsalamode.wordpress.com, she gift-wrapped her paintings to fit her Christmas decor, I loved her idea so much, I had to re-create it in our house by gift-wrapping our mirror hanging in our living room and added a big red felt ribbon to make it look like a big gift. My son loves it so much, he climbs the sofa every day and tries to unwrap it. For the first time parents and parents-to-be, you can look forward to not having a clean house for a long time once your kid starts walking

Thanks again for stopping by!

Thank you so much for mentioning my cupcakes. I appreciate it. I love the kit so much better!! They look delicious. Mine were made with red beets so they didn’t get too red. But they were good. Yours look amazingly rich and red. I love them.
Love your Holiday Wrappings within your house. I did all that when my children were young. It is so much fun. I laughed that you son is trying to unwrap the paper. too cute. My youngest turned 21, so I don’t do as much now
Enjoy the moments like this; it is what it is all about {{virtual hug}}. You are wonderful parents!!

I tried these out for the first time in my life and I am still on the fence about them. I have friends who rave about them like they’re a slice of heaven but I can’t figure out what they taste like to me. Mind you I’m am betting mine weren’t great b/c of my icing. Oy. I’ll go get the PC ones and let you know how that goes.
