My New DIY Designer Pot and Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree from IKEA

Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree and Pot from IKEA

Hello everyone,

I hope you are having a great day! I’ve been a bit busy over here trying to keep Nate occupied while taking new pictures of our living room. Yes, I will finally be sharing them with you very soon but first let me show you my new fiddle leaf fig tree that we got from IKEA back in July.

If you are a ‘Pinterest’ addict like me, you have seen her everywhere. Not only is she beautiful, she is easy to take care of. Since we got her, I make sure to only water her every Saturday and I make sure she is exposed to a lot of natural light. I believe I found the perfect spot for her:

Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree and Pot from IKEA

I can’t believe how beautiful she is still looking and I’m really hoping she will continue to grow like this. Did you notice her black and white pot? Once, I decided this week on the colors I would choose for our living room (black and white with hints of gold), I painted the pot. I was inspired by this picture, it didn’t turn out quite the same but that’s okay it’s not supposed to. I wanted to have my new fiddle leaf fig tree beautifully displayed in our living room and I think this was a great way to make it look as a pretty accessory.

To trace the arches, I used a black Sharpie and painted it with a small size brush. The round arches are not perfect but I really love the look of it and I love how a simple painted pot can look so pretty after you add your own touch:

I hope you like this fun look as much as I do and that you liked the little glimpses of my living room:

And, I also hope this inspires you to add a little touch of color to your space this weekend. Will you be painting something too?

please, let me indulge again this week:

A Friday ritual. A single photo – no words- capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinaire moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

I don’t have much natural light-I wonder if you know something good for partial shade? Plants really look good in a home. I am great with outdoor! Flowers, plants, vegetables, trees…I’m not sure why I can’t take care of house plants! I cannot wait to see your reveal!!

I’m not good with plants either, unfortunately! & I had read that this one can be in partial shade but then I also read that it’s better if she gets a lot of light. I also have ‘succulents’ but I keep them in my kitchen next to the window (lot of sun there too) so I wouldn’t know which ones would be best for partial shade, sorry Amy! (I just hope this one I will be able to keep pretty for a while) :-)
My living room is not complete yet, I’m missing accessories but it’s okay I will decorate it slowly and with things I like but nothing too precious for us here with my little one! :-) wish you a great weekend Amy! :-)

:-) Thank you very much Michelle, I love the black and white next to the gold! :-) I got the pot and the fiddle leaf fig tree at IKEA back in July, when we got there, not many were left but I think they always have in stock (not sure about it) but I think that they also have them at Home Depot! :-)
