In our small narrow townhouse we don’t have a formal dining room, we have an eat-in-kitchen.
I can’t complain, it is very bright, spacious and opens up to our back yard as well.
We have a simple brown dining table with simple brown chairs from IKEA. The walls are white and plain with no wall paper or artwork. Maybe later, I will post a picture of our dining space, but now, I am too ashamed to do so.
Our eat-in kitchen, is not functional, and has become a wasted space for us. We rarely use the dining table. The three of us, we eat in a small spot in one of our counters.
This week, I am considering and loving the idea of a kitchen banquette.
I am not sure how it would look in our eat-in-kitchen and if my hubby would even consider it.
So, this afternoon, I searched for some inspiration on Pinterest.
Oh! my! I found some inspiration there!
I love those beautiful spaces.
I created myself a new board “ Dining Room Banquette” for inspiration. I printed them and pined them on my cork board (inspiration board) too.
These are some of my favorites pictures I pinned earlier this week, I thought it would be fun sharing them with you. Every single one of these pictures create a warm feeling, I wish I could create this feeling in my home.

After looking at all these beautiful pictures, I realized that having a kitchen banquette could offer us :
-much needed storage
–More seating for many more people
-coziness (they look very comfortable)
-better access to our back yard
-an interesting kitchen decor
Now, I will keep dreaming about this idea and hope it will become true, I will keep you posted once I decide on what do with this boring dining space.
Banquette or Dining Table for eight?, I will wait and see.
