Giant cupcake

Giant cupcake

Just want to share with you guys some pictures of this giant cupcake, I baked yesterday!

Last weekend, I bought this giant Wilton cupcake pan from Sears, I tried it with Duncan Hans cake mix (white and chocolate). I love how it turned out. I will be using this pan very often.

These are the ingredients, I used and the directions for the cake mix (follow the directions from the package of your choice)

Giant cupcake

ingredients:

. 2 cake mix (vanilla and chocolate)

. 6 eggs

. 4 tablespoons of oil (2 per cake mix)

. frosting (choose flavour of your choice to decorate)

. sprinkles

. candy (choose colors of your choice to decorate)

directions:

. preheat your oven at 350 degrees

. prepare your cake mix according to the package directions (for this recipe, I used two different flavours: white and chocolate), you can also use your own mix

. blend the wet ingredients (for each cake mix): 3 eggs with 1 1/3 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of oil

. add the cake mix to the blended wet ingredients and spoon batter into the cupcake shape pan, I had extra cake mix, so, I baked some cupcakes too

Giant cupcake

Giant cupcake

. bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes for the big cupcake and 15 to 20 minutes for the medium cupcakes

. let them cool for about 10 minutes

. trim the top of each cake

. spread icing on top of each trimmed cake

. place the trimmed part of the cake on top of the other trimmed cake to get the shape of a giant cupcake

P.S.:  you will notice that it takes longer for the middle of the cake to be ready, baking time for the big cake was around 30 minutes.

Decorate:

. spread frosting in the areas of the cake you choose (for this cake, I decided to decorate the top with vanilla and chocolate frosting)

. add sprinkles and/or candy of your choice

Et voilà! A giant cupcake!
