we are finally here, the day I get to give you a final tour of this small space and the pieces of furniture I decided to keep: week 6 of the ORC challenge.
Thank you so much for stopping by week after week to see how everything was progressing and for your feedback.
I can’t believe how indecisive I’ve been but I’m happy with the results, since I did it with almost no budget. No major changes were done but I love how open this space feels by just removing my old pantry from here.
Two or three new accessories might be added to this space in the next month but that’s only because the Holidays are just around the corner.
There is almost nothing new to show you that you haven’t seen in the previous posts, except for the IKEA grey curtains and a new vase. Once again, I went shopping within my own home and took my basement curtains and gave them new life in our dining room:
I love this green vase very much. When I saw it at Target it looked so much bigger and I thought it would look great next to the tall black lamps but quickly realized that I was wrong. It’s too small but I still kept it here because I think it’s nice. This green vase is the only real expense I incurred during the 6 week challenge. I already had the spray paint from previous projects. The new black and white light fixture was a gift from my mom and the rest of the accessories I already had in my house:
Here is a close up of the black lamps, do you agree with me that they look much better than the previous ones? the round ones went back to our basement:
Do you remember the big piece of wood I spray painted with black chalkboard paint weeks ago? I wasn’t sure about keeping it in this space but now I love it. I love that I can write ‘quotes’ or even a ‘lunch menu’ if I want:
Here is another angle of the dining room, I love having this fun chalkboard in this space:
Now, this is the view from the dining room to the living room, if you look closely, you can see Nate watching TV while I was taking the pictures. He is never far from me. If ever you get bored, you can always use my blog as a ‘Where’s Waldo’ book and try to find Nate in my posts:
When I was done taking the pictures for today’s post, I let Nate use the chalkboard, he loved it (he also needs a new haircut):
Thank you Linda for hosting this fun challenge, I’m very happy to have participated, it pushed me into changing my dining room space to match the rest of my home.
& don’t forget to check out what the others are doing!
Thanks again everyone for stopping by and following my weekly updates!
