Last year, I realized we had burlap/jute around the house, I kept telling myself I should do something with it. This year, I finally took the roll of burlap, visited one of my favorite sites: “Pinterest”, looked around for DIY ideas, pinned some and started working on these small inexpensive DIY burlap projects to decorate different spaces around our house.
Before I tell you how I did all this, I need to warn you:
. you will get messy
. burlap is very messy to work with!
Please, don’t forget, when I made these, it was for fun, so be creative and let your imagination go wild
gather around the table the tools you need, start by wrapping the burlap around the canvas and staple it to the canvas
this is my little helper, I asked him to hold the wood letters while I was wrapping the burlap around the canvas, he left with them to watch TV and didn’t want to give them back. He likes to hang around when I’m working on something.
paint the wooden letters with white paint (or the color of your choosing)
after you paint the letters, leave them to dry for at least an hour, I left mine to dry for over 3 hours
glue the letters to the burlap fabric
voila! you now have your own DIY burlap monogram canvas
Plant holder covered with burlap and a red ribbon
(this last one is very simple to do)
tools:
. burlap/jute
. plant holder
. ribbon (I choose a red felt ribbon)
instructions:
wrap the burlap around the plant holder
wrap a ribbon around the burlap fabric, I choose red to create a festive look for the Holidays, I used a glue gun to hold it together
Burlap was a fun way to create all these little, easy to do it yourself and very inexpensive projects, hope you get to try them!
