Paper Mache Deer Head

Paper Mache Deer Head

Hello everyone,
how are you? are you ready for the weekend? I am, it’s been very busy around here. I had plans to start decorating our home for the Holidays but haven’t had much free time lately. I’m glad to be here today to share with you a project I finished two weeks ago but haven’t had a chance to post.
Remember, my previous post; ‘where I blog’, I showed you the state of my dining room desk and there was a white deer head on top of it? don’t worry, it wasn’t a real deer head.
Well, I got it from Deserres over 3 weeks ago at half price, it’s a papier mache …

Want to impress a 6 year old? DIY a Latch Containers Advent Calendar

Advent Calendar with Latch containers

Hello everyone,
hope you are having a great week, here it’s been good but very busy because I’ve been working on this fun project for my little nephew and I wanted to make sure I could give it to him before December 1st. I wanted to post about it since last week but I only started working on it this weekend and with Nate around I’m lucky to have finished this project at all.
As I’m writing this post (Tuesday evening), I’m having difficulties focusing on this post because he is trying to reach for everything from our kitchen island and counters with the help of our orange pouf.
Please let me share with on how I put this fun Advent Calendar together …

White, Gold and Blue Wreath for the Holidays

white gold and blue Christmas Wreath 2013

Good morning everyone,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It was a little cold around here, so I stayed in, cozy in my pyjamas all Sunday. I took time to start decorating the house for Christmas. Have you started decorating yet?
I love this time of the year because I can have as many wreaths that I want around our home without anyone calling me the ‘crazy wreath lady’. So when a group of my fellow bloggers put a wreath hop together, I dusted off my old wreaths, jumped at the chance to participate and started decorating my own.
I love traditional wreaths and bought an oversize one last year for our living room but this year when it came to create my …

Hometalk vinegar solutions nowathomemom on HomeTalk

Hello everyone,
hope you are all doing well, we enjoyed the beautiful weather by spray painting. Yeah, that’s what we do around here when the weather is nice.
Remember my homemade butcher block cleaner that I shared with you back in July? Well, Hometalk asked me to create a clipboard of vinegar solutions that we all would love to try. How exciting is that. I was surprised that there is so many vinegar solutions …

Halloween Mason Jars

Halloween mason jars using gold leafing pen

Hi everyone,
you are the best, you have no idea how much I appreciate your sweet comments from yesterday’s post. I really do. Thank you for the love.
I can’t believe I’m back today but I had to share with you a simple and quick Halloween project that I made this afternoon while Nate was calm watching a movie; Halloween mason jars. I love all those mason jar projects that we see everywhere, I’ve done a few myself and this one was the …

Copper Leaf Lamp Makeover just in time for Fall

DIY Copper Lamp Table for Fall decor living room

Hello everyone,
hope you are doing well, the weather is changing around here, it’s officially Fall; the days are shorter and cooler just the way I like them at this time of the year. I wore my Fall boots this weekend but I was probably the only one wearing them, I can’t believe some people were still wearing flip-flops when it was chilly out there. I also wanted to thank all of you for taking time to ask about Nate and me; he is doing great, unfortunately I cannot say the same for myself. I’m not ready to share just yet but your kind words mean so much to me and have helped me stay positive. It still amazes me how bloggers can be so supportive. Please know that I also appreciate you voting for my …

DIY Gold Leaf Wall Art + Apartment Therapy Contest

Gold Leaf Wall art

Good evening everyone!
I hope you are all having a wonderful week, we are all exhausted here. You might have noticed that I haven’t posted for a while or visited my favorite blogs either, that’s because I have been struggling with some issues and on top of that this week our little boy is sick and we are keeping a close eye on him. This weekend we will try to relax a bit and hope our little man will be better by then.
On a positive note however, I participated in the popular ‘Room For Color Contest’ from Apartment Therapy. I submitted my Fall …

Hello everyone,
I hope you are having a great day! I’ve been a bit busy over here trying to keep Nate occupied while taking new pictures of our living room. Yes, I will finally be sharing them with you very soon but first let me show you my new fiddle leaf fig tree that we got from IKEA back in July.

TOY STORAGE SOLUTION

Good weekend everyone,
I hope you are doing great and enjoying these sunny summer days. The weather was not great at the beginning of the week over here but Friday was beautiful, got a chance to pay a small visit to IKEA, got new lamp shades for my living room, I will share more on that later. You might remember that back in June I had a chance to guest post over at The DIY …

Homemade Butcher Block Cleaner

Homemade Butcher Block Cleaner with lemons and vinegar

Hello everyone,
I hope you are having a great week, we are enjoying every minute of sunshine we can get by playing outside with our little boy. This morning, I wanted to share with you a small homemade cleaner I prepared and that I use every day: a homemade butcher block cleaner. But first, I want to let you know that I am very excited to be over at CALLING IT HOME sharing a fun summer project with Linda’s readers. Have you ever visited her blog, if you …

Homemade Foot Stool

round lazy suzan transformed into a foot rest

Happy Monday everyone,
I hope you had a beautiful weekend
I’m glad to say hubby and I took time to work on small projects around the house. Nate is soaking up every minute of sunshine that he can. Playing in the yard is one of his first requests every morning and I have already gotten a nice tan because of this. I am once again behind in my e-mails but I had to take advantage of the great weather we are having around here and make my little man happy. Our summers don’t last long enough…

Fabric Covered Plywood

frame fabric board

Good day everyone,
I’ve been wanting to share this post with you for a long time but kept hesitating. You know how much I love sharing with you big and small projects I do around the house but I didn’t think I was going to keep this big piece of plywood in my dining area. Once I decided to keep it and post about it, I kept putting it off. I’ve had this project ready since last March and because of the DITTO DIY Framed Fabric challenge, I decided to bite the bullet and share it with you. You probably even saw a glimpse of it in my Gold Leaf Elephant post pictures. Please don’t be shy, I want to know what you …

Happy Monday and Canada day too everyone!
I hope you enjoyed your weekend, we were busy Saturday and Sunday, so today we are relaxing by preparing healthy goodies in the kitchen. Because, I’ve had time to relax, I’ve had time to let my mind wonder and forgot about today’s post, so I am posting a little bit later than I usual.
Do you remember that last month I participated to a DITTO’s DIY party and I linked my gold home office accessories to the Go for the Gold challenge, it was a fun party to link up to and had the chance to see what other bloggers were …

Canadian Independance Day

Happy Sunday everyone,
tomorrow July 1st is Canada day, so for all you Canadians out there Happy Canada day!
And to my American friends, Happy Independence Day: July 4th !!!
As a way to celebrate this beautiful day, I decided to hang another wreath at my front door. By now, you should expect that I will jump at the chance for any excuse to hang a wreath. This one was very easy to do, it only took me about 15 minutes to complete the whole thing. I did it while hubby was playing with …

How to make your Post-It’s

DIY Post-it's

Happy Saturday everyone,
I hope you had a great week and that you will have a fun weekend.
Tomorrow, we are expecting rain over here in Montreal, so I guess outdoor activities remain on hold again! It’s a shame because I found a great piece of wood that I planned a project for. Now this project will just have to wait.
Do you remember my last post?
I mentioned that I would finally be posting about how to make your own …

How to give your terra cotta pots an aged look

DIY Aged clay pots white acrylic paint sanding

Good morning everyone,
I hope you have all been doing great. It’s been a difficult week for us here because hubby has been working a different schedule which completely disrupted Nate’s daily routine. Needless to say, I had to adapt and help Nate adjust. Next week, hubby will return to work to his usual schedule, so here we go again!
You might remember from one of my previous posts a picture of oregano, parsley and basil seeds lying next to terra cotta

DIY mini kitchen island yellow- 22-maybe

Hello everyone,
How are you doing? I hope you all had a great weekend. For us it’s been calm and unproductive: we’ve been busy watching movies and eating popcorn. Due to the bad weather we’ve been having in Montreal, almost all my projects have taken a back seat. Some of you might remember that May 20th was Nate’s birthday. Our lucky boy, celebrated his second birthday twice this year: a party with …

DIY project; a basket to organize my kitchen counter

DIY project kitchen organization with baskets

Hello everyone,
I hope you are having a great weekend and that you have fun activities planned, we will be busy celebrating Nate’s 2nd birthday. I can’t believe my little baby boy will be 2 years old in 2 days. It seems as if not long ago, he was not able to eat, walk or stand by himself. If you see him today, he jumps, runs and doesn’t want or need mommy’s help. Oh, how I’m already missing those days. I can’t imagine what I will say about him on his …
